Announcing the 2023 Giller Book Club Schedule

January 6, 2023

Here we are at the start of 2023 with another year of wondrous book clubs ahead of us. If what Joan Didion declared, “We tell ourselves stories in order to live” is true, then we invite you for a joyful ride through many lives and stories that will enrich your soul and fire your imagination.

For the third year in a row, The Giller Foundation has paired the author of each of the 14 longlisted titles from 2022 with shortlisted and longlisted authors from prior years, academics and members of last year’s jury. During the hour-long book clubs, you’ll be part of an intimate one-on-one conversation about how the author thinks, composes his or her novel or short story collection, who inspires them and what challenges they may or may not face. For both the author and the interviewer, some of whom may already be friends, you’ll be privy to an honest, thoughtful and deep exchange of ideas and thoughts. You’ll also have a chance to ask the author your own questions during the last 15 minutes of the discussion.

Everyone is welcome to attend the Giller Book Club at no cost via Zoom. To sign-up, please visit our website and register. We’ll send you a reminder a week before and the day of so you don’t forget! Each book club promises to be stellar and exciting. So, take a look at the list below and mark your calendars. For book lovers, we’ve got you covered!
